While we wait...

Annnnd we're still waiting... This baby boy has to come at some point, right?!?

We had the opportunity to speak with our birth mom last week. It was such a great blessing for us. She was quiet and kind and really sweet. I can only imagine being in her shoes. My heart just breaks for her, for all she is going through, and for all she has yet to go through. We assured her that this baby would know he was adopted from the beginning, that we would speak of her with gratitude, respect and appreciation, and that he will know that she loved him so much. I think she needed to hear that.

Meanwhile, things around here have been business as usual. We've been enjoying this crazy weather, one day hot, one day cold, one day raining, one day absolutely beautifully perfect... it makes no sense. We've been rockin' the playdates, and picnics at the park. We been enjoying birthday parties and time with family.

A friend gave us a huge box of books, coloring books, games and activities for the kids. What a blessing for them and me, as I have enjoyed the resulting quietness!

We had some special visitors at The Buckman Academy recently. The dads were working together clearing land, so I offered to watch their kids and get school done. We actually had so much fun in this one room schoolhouse!

Last week, Bryan's parents watched our kids for the afternoon and evening, so that we could spend some time alone. We drove to the Cocoa Pier, walked and talked, and then enjoyed a beautiful sunset dinner on the water.

Lilly used some of her spending money from Christmas to pamper herself... Oh, she makes me laugh.

The past few days especially, we've been spending some extra quiet time together as a family. We haven't done anything extremely exciting, but we have just been together. It's been so good for us. I feel like sometimes we take on a little too much. We plan and work and rush from place to place, we do playdates and school stuff, and sports, and church and after a while, it all gets tiring. That's where we were at this past week. Just tired. We needed to just sit back and relax a little and recharge. And it's been really good.

I hope you're having a great week so far, and I hope you're finding some time to relax and recharge as well. Until next time.
