Wildflowers.

Good evening!

Spring is in the air (even though it actually feels a lot more like summer), and I have been bitten by the flower planning, yard beautify-ing, gardening bug. You know it. The one that convinces you that you should go drop a bunch of money at Lowe's and Home Depot on seeds, and little baby plants, and large amounts of stinky messy soil... Or does that just happen to me?

Dreams of beautiful flowery, colorful landscapes take over, and I forget that all of those projects usually turn out the same for me. Dead...

So anyway, the kids and I decided that this year we would do something a little different. We bought a whole bunch of packets of wildflower seeds and planted them in the front yard around the tree. Yes, all of the packets.

We recruited some help from our neighbor friends, and those kids did all of the work by themselves. They raked the old mulch out, they added a bunch of new (stinky) soil, they dug little holes with their little kid fingers and planted seeds and then they watered.

We are hoping for a little "field" of wildflower beauty.
If nothing else, it was a fun little evening activity.
Happy Spring planting to ya!
