Full speed ahead.

This summer train is chuggin' right on down the tracks. Despite the struggles we're facing with Barkley, we are making plans, and crossing things off that bucket list. And we are taking plenty of time to just hang out around the house and relax.

Our curriculum for this coming school year arrived this week. It's always an exciting day when the kids get to open their own boxes and look over what they will soon get to learn.

My Bella Grace loves reading! She started on her readers for next year as soon as she got them, just because she wants to.

We ordered Lilly's school stuff for not this year, but next, because the edition is changing, and we wanted it to match our current teachers edition. Anyway, so she got some books of her own, and sister was ready to go.  She kept trying to get to the pencils and start working (scribbling) on it.

It turns out that making pillow forts is a great way to beat this Florida heat.

Just in case you were worried, fear not. Grady the Gator catcher is here. He will tie that gator up in his sister's belt, and then put a slap bracelet around it's snout, just to be safe.

This afternoon pillow fort was followed by family dancing after dinner, and then a bike ride down to the duck pond. (Poor Barks was trying to get in on the dancing.)

Into every life a little rain must fall, right? I have to admit, this past week as I've been struggling with the future of Barkles, over and over I've been reminded of how fortunate I am. We've been blessed in so many ways, and those are the things I will choose to focus on as we move ahead.
