Oh, the anticipation and excitement!

For months, we have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of some very special visitors. On Monday we painted some "welcome" pictures to give them, and planned for the next day. Bella wondered if our new friends would like her, and what their language sounds like.

On Tuesday morning, we hurried through school, and then hit the road for Melbourne. Oh, the car was filled with excitement and nervous smiles.

We jumped out of the car, and that curiosity turned into smiles and laughter and "hooray"s, and lots of hugs. My beautiful sister Becky has come home from Denmark for a month! "Hooray!!!" And just as exciting, she brought her boyfriend Jens (pronounced Yens) and his two daughters Ines and Alba.

We packed lunches and headed to the beach for a picnic.

The girls don't speak English, but it has been so fun to watch the communication. The kids all talk to each other, as if the others understand, and somehow they do understand.

For example, no matter what language is spoken, sneaking up on a flock of birds, must always be followed by chasing them, and disrupting their perfect afternoon break. (Look at my sister, oh, I laugh. She's totally ready.)

We came home from the beach, cleaned up, and got ready for dinner. Since we had a few minutes, the girls made place cards for the table. Bella wrote the names, and Ines decorated them.

These names represent lives that make me so happy. It is so good to have my sister here, and be able to talk to her whenever I want to, and not have to worry about time differences. It is so good to meet the people that are so important to her, and are such a huge part of her life. I can't wait for more fun days with our whole family together and our new friends!
