One thing that can not be taken.

I heard this today, and I've been ruminating on it all day. And I like it. Not the situation that the thought came out of, but the nugget of truth.
“We who lived in concentration camps can remember the men who walked through the huts comforting others, giving away their last piece of bread. They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms -- to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.”
Viktor E. Frankl
Good stuff. Now ruminate with me...
The weather was nice yesterday, so after Lilly woke up from her nap we took the kids for a bike ride beside the river. (And yes, there were helmets. Oh, how I love helmets. And seeing my kids in helmets.)

Last night was "Burger Night" at our friends house. I heart Burger Night. Burger Night is great. Burger Night is one of my favorite nights. Burger Night is such a good idea, and I wish I would have thought of it first! Our friends host this event every other Tuesday night. They provide burgers and hot dogs hot off the grill, and everyone that comes brings a side. It's completely laid back and relaxed. Kids play, grown ups sit around eating and talking, and it's just good stuff.

This morning, five mama friends and ten kids met at the library for story time, and then a picnic and play time at the park. This amazing Fall weather is making it harder and harder to stay indoors. I love it!

These days we have are good. And we have so much to be thankful for.
Thank you Lord, for this life that you have made and given. It is so good.
