One of my favorite days

Tuesday was one of my favorite days.

First of all, I love going to the beach. When we got there, we decided to do things a little differently, and started out on the inlet side. It's not where we normally go, but I have been wanting to check it out for a while. It was pretty, but the wind wasn't as strong so it seemed hotter, there were no waves to ride, and it had a lot of sharp shells. So after about ten minutes, Bella named that beach "Shell Beach" and we packed everything up and went to our "normal beach".

For all of you who may not know the answer to the age old question about how to wear your favorite necklace with a turtle neck, here is your answer.

The clouds in this picture should have been a sign of things to come. Unfortunately, I was more focused on the fact that the peach bandit was double fisted, and making off with someones snack. Little sister will find an eaten peach, and relentlessly clean that sucker off, until there is nothing left but the pit.

Back at our normal beach, there is not a cloud in the sky.

About 20 minutes after we unpacked, we noticed the winds picking up and cooling down. Big, dark clouds were rolling in. We hurriedly packing everything up, and hustled our little brood of babies under the shelter just in time.

Rain is seriously one of my favorite things. I love rain parties, and sleeping through a storm, even just sitting and watching the rain. I actually hoped that it would rain on my wedding day, because I thought it would be romantic, and it did.

After the initial downpour, we got a little wild, and danced in the rain. Bryan and I went first, and soon enough, those babies were shakin' it!

After all that dancin' and playing in the rain, we were ready to eat. We went to our most favorite Mexican restaurant, and got our most favorite dinner: chicken, steak, and shrimp fajitas for two, which really equates to dinner for five.

After our chips and salsa, and fajita gorging, Bryan suggested that we go back to the beach. We drove up to Daytona Beach, and found a park on the beach that has bathrooms and showers and a little playground. I was thinking that we would just go for a walk, but these kids just can't stay dry.

Lilly LOVES chasing the birds. She calls them "booies". She gets all excited when she sees them flying, or when she thinks they are close enough to catch.

They ran around, laughed, splashed and danced. It was beautiful.

We rinsed the kiddos off, and changed them into random items of clothing found in my car, and took them home. It was one of my favorite days.

  1. I LOVE this story! What a wonderful day, and I am thrilled to hear that you hoped for rain on your wedding day, because that must mean you love rain as much as I do. Thanks for sharing your photos and your beautiful day with us. :)
